We should be hearing an announcement soon regarding the release of Half-Life 2. The game was originally scheduled for Sept 30th and that means it has to be shipped out to stores within the next week. If it's not shipped, the release date is going to change.

I hope it makes the date.

Yeah, I can get easy money to get me some supplied to build my PC, and ...save up for a Bronco (i like those trucks?) ...which is carrying horse jumps on and off of the rodeo arena.. heh.. $50 a day. and $1000 a week out-of-town.. woooo hooo. yep. heh... well, yeah.

The last date was slated for the same as 2003 - end of September.

I won't go into the controversy of actually releasing the game at that time, but instead I'll just say that I think this year at that time is a very reasonable date to expect.

With the other games (Doom3, Stalker, etc.) all slated for similar dates, one can only wonder. With Valve's continuous reminder that the release date is not important, only the solidity of the game, it is hard to tell. As once said by Gabe Newell in not so many words, if they had to drop another $20 million into the game before releasing it, they would. So there is quite a lot of room to debate about the release date, especially with publisher Vivendi in the process of a "turnaround" and such. Let's hope for a solid release...

DOOM III is pretty definite for Aug 3.

I am also betting that HL2 makes it's release date for the month of September. Notice I am not expecting an actual day to be nailed down yet.

STALKER I think could be changed from September to something else. I might have seen and played the game at E3 but that doesn't mean I think it was ready for release. Awesome game but still a little buggy.

Thanks, I found the source file I used to make a similar version in the past, and did a much better job of it this time. :) It's much smaller, too. (I know the last was larger, but this one is only 1020 bytes.)

Yeah, I actually mean similar dates, as a broad term for this Fall (but how can anyone know what I'm thinking, doh). :D

omg... I keep hearing the this week this week this week phrase over and over as far as the release of the HL2 engine and more importantly, CS:Source... I've been playing about as much of the beta as I can and am dying for the full version to make it out... AAAAAAAAARRGHHHHH!!!!! WHEN!?!?!?!?!?
