Just curious if everyone else also spends as much as me... for UK people i am sure u can convert dollars into pounds :) and for other people too check ur currency rates to vote in this poll... actually i spend a little too less and miss out on one or two games every month.. Da*n they are too expensive nowadays.. missed out on morrowind this month.. as had to buy GTA3 and SOF2

ya know, I would spend the money if, IF there were something interesting and worthwhile to play. lol But right now we are seeing a literal glut of old engine tech games arriving, and almost on the edge of finally *gasp* seeing some really new next gen stuff coming.

Personally I can`t wait for this year to be over and all but a bad dream. Hopefully SOF 2s multi can give me some kind of satisfaction till the games arrive that justify my upgrading.
If ya got the money to blow by all means have at her. But I tend to stay focussed on games that actually deliver for the money I spend.

I must disagree this year did bring the best of games..
examples follow:
"RPG"
Freedom Force
Dungeon Siege (i started playing RPG due to this game)
Morrowind (seen it and it rocks)
"ACTION"
SOF2
MOHAA
RTCW
Serious Sam II
Grand Theft Auto III
"SPORTS"
Fifa 2002 World Cup
F1 2002

and yet to come NOLF2, WARCRAFT III, Hitman 2, IGI 2.. i mean this year we are on a rampage.. arent we..

others i really dont remember but even using "Old technology" did provide us with some really cool games..

by the way the next gen things are supposed to be the best so if u upgrade now u will not loose out on anything..

It's NOT the money that's the issue for me, it's just I only buy the best games of the genre that I like; First Person Shooters, Flight Sims, and occasionally racing sims.  This year has been slim pickins’; I've been living on half-rations.  I've only bought 4 games this year. 1). Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault; 2). Jedi Outcast; 3). Desert Siege (Ghost Recon add-on); and  4). SOF-2.

In desperation, I also bought Silent Hunter II but was bored to death. For those of you who complain about spending 10 seconds sneaking up on a couple guards, try spending 2 hours sneaking up on a convoy just to get one or two shots at a merchant ship then spending another hour or two hiding from the destroyers looking for you! Then you get to spend another 2 hours sneaking up on them again, but this time it's harder casue they know you're there. And all you see throught 90% of the game is a panel of guages. Aaaargh!, ahem, anyway...

Although the Quantity has not been there at least the Quality has. All of these games have been exceptional.

The rest of the year looks just as dismal Quantity wise. But there are at least 4 bright lights at the end of this tunnel. Unreal Tournament 2003; No One Lives Forever 2; Counter-Strike: Condition Zero; and (hopefully) Duke Nukem Forever, I mean, 7 years is just too long to make a sequel.  “Lock-On” should be an excellent sequel to Flanker 2, for you hard-core Jet Jockeys. A few other possibilities this year are I.G.I.-2; and maybe a Medal of Honor add-on.

I'm just wondering, what are you opinions about using warez to get a game early but you do buy the game when it comes out?

I see warez as theft, and I don't smile upon theft at all. I try out demos first (if available). Then I go and purchase the game when it's released if I liked the demo. If I'm not so sure, I give it a couple of weeks for the reviews to come out. I've run across several warez-specific sites and made a point of it to report them to the proper authorities.

Yeah, Right.  That's like: "Here's a new Ferrari. Try it out.  If you like it, you can either keep it for free or buy it from us."

Of the hundreds of games I've bought, I've only returned two. I intentionally bought them from a store that had a return policy (E.B.). So if you're really unsure about a game, buy from a store that has such a policy.

Thank god for demos, cuz if it wasn't for the SoF2 demo, I would not have it. I would have missed out. I used to just buy whatever came out. Now I have learned to pace my money, but there have been alot of games coming out lately & I gotta have them all, 1st day out. So my money spent fluxuates. Since games run from 40-50 bux, I buy 3 to 4 a month.

Boy I agree Kick Ass. I think this has been a great year for gaming. I can't even keep up with it all. Right now I have several games on my HD keeping me busy. F12k1 with all the mods is just excellent. Morrowind another winner. SOF2 MP will keep me going for months. F12k2 this week! :D Ghost Recon which I've been having a hard time getting around to. GTA3 which is the most fun I've had in a long time with a PC game. And I've already put several to rest this year to make room for new stuff. JKII, MOHAA, Serious Sam 2. I also have a few older games going that I picked up in discount bins. I love to find an old game I haven't played that's still good for $10 or less. You can nearly always get your money's worth out of that. There are also several good games due to be released before year's end that have me excited. Yea this is a good game year.
