I just had to post these, because I think they're important;

- The grenades were almost always straight on target, even on 'amateur'. Kinda wears me off being blown up for the 100th time in one hour.
- The SHIRT-wearing bodyguard from the mansion could not be shot, unlike the tiny electrical circuitboard behind him. (Very believable.) :s15: "I can't get a clear shot!" Yeah right.
- When snipering (or using other weapons), bullets sometimes deflect on an invisible (curved) surface. The rocks in RMG missions are a nice example.
- Sometimes while running I got stuck in nothing. I had to walk back and forward again to get unstuck.
- It was sometimes impossible to pick up more 5.56 ammo when your ammo count was not even full.
- Why can some terrorists see through green sheets (in the hospital) even if I always sneak?
- A particulair fan, although it was turning really slow, instantly killed me when I was, in my opinion, not even near the bloody thing. (In Ka... Ke... How's that snowy place called again?)
- Why can some enemies poke their M4 through walls and shoot the crap out of me? (Ethereal weapons? :s18: )

Just minor remarks;
- Why can't you sniper chopperpilots anymore?
- And why can choppers withstand 300 M60 rounds?
- An option for disabling dogs would be nice. If I wanted to shoot animals, I'd buy deer hunter. :s20:

I seriously hope someone can fix these problems. I have played Jedi Outcast too, and that game was perfect in every way. It is very disappointing to see that there are quite a few bugs in this game.

Two bugs to add:

- The marines in Columbia sometimes get stuck while I clean out houses. They don't do anything anymore and I can start all over again. :s14:
- The marine you get for support during RMG Demolition missions gets stuck around every corner.

Hope someone can solve these. :s20:

All of the above. The most annoying for me is that if a baddie is standing in full view, but near, say 5 feet away, from a truck, tree, or wall, you can not hit him. I guess the truck has an invisible forcefield extending 8 feet out in all directions......however, he can shoot out of it just fine!

Don't forget the 30mm M203 really  has no range to speak of. I know it should shoot further then it does.

Wow! You nailed 'em all. I would've posted the exact same bugs! I kept getting blasted on the last mission and I couldn't figure out what the #### was going on. I put on the nightvision goggles and I saw the barrel of a gun sticking through a wall - not a window - a WALL - in the middle of nowhere!

Yeah I know what you're talking about, but this isn't actually a bug, it's just another bad judgement in weapon balance made by whoever was in charge. I don't know why Raven decided to pussify Mullins' firearm handling abilities (I thought he was supposed to be some super-commando type guy), but they did and he is weak as h3ll in this game. However, there is a little trick you can do to de-pussify him, read on.

Every gun in this game has kick/recoil and the amount of "shake" simulated is accurate enough, but then the game adds in random "inaccuracy" on top of the recoil! That makes just about any assault rifle, even the OICW, about as accurate as a cheap SMG. Here's how you fix it: open up therest.pk3 in your SOF2/base directory. Within the archive, look for a folder called ext_data and extract a file named SOF2.wpn. Remove the read only attributes from the file (I don't know why they're set in the first place) and open it up in notepad. Now scroll through the various weapon settings. You'll notice that each weapon has a kick angle setting and a minimum and maximum "inaccuracy" setting. I'd leave the kick angles alone but bring those min/max settings way down. In fact, if you want the weapons to really be accurate, bring the min/max settings down to zero and just let the kick simulate recoil.

Also, I'm pretty sure you can adjust the settings for the M203 grenades in the config file as well. I always thought the splash radius for the grenades was pretty weak; you can modify that and the projectile speed of the grenade itself in the .wpn file. But be careful with those settings, the computer already has 200% accuracy and X-Ray vision when it comes to tossing 'nades so if you boost the splash radius too far...things will get messy...

As for the invisible walls, I don't think that can be helped. It's obvious that this game is a rush-job and the maps were done hastily without proper debugging. As a result there are protruding brushes, invisible "barriers", and all kinds of crap that shouldn't be there, but is.

Yeah except for the fact that you could throw a baseball faster than any projectile in the game (except the disruptor) and saber/force cheapness kills MP gaming. That and the fact that Raven REFUSES to release the SP source code (can you imagine all the great SP MODs and TCs that could be done with the JK2 engine) and the only thing modifiable is the sh1tty multiplayer game. As you can see, I'm not very impressed with Ravensoft right now :s7:

YO!, you can turn weapon inaccuracy off in the 'Custom' settins in the difficulty selection screen. even when you're half way through the game.

One thing that niggled me was that in some rooms in the prauge hotel the light from the corridoor/room next door would be showing along the floor inside the room you're in. i thought the carpet was had a funny shade/patern at first!. no show stopper i know. but i think it kinda ties in with the gun through the wall thing...

Hi Greywing,
Nice post, but the bit about the guy in the white shirt is not a weapon balance issue but a "you-have-to-follow-our-rules-and-shoot-this-and-that-to-kill-him-because-he-is-bulle
tproof" issue. I don't mind to shoot a little electrical box hanging behind his back to kill him IF he would wear 25 layers of kevlar and 30cm thick titanium armor. He CAN be shot, but the bullets just ricochet off his SHIRT. Unbelievable.

Same thing with the chopper. With a couple of shots you can blow away the engines, but the heli itself can withstand 300 rounds of a M60.
SoF I was perfect, you could sniper the bastards through the window or blow them away with explosives. I don't see the point why they had to change that.

Come on, Raven! Get real please! I know all of your games and they were all very good or even perfect! Please don't let me down again!

I suspected this a few times, but then when I was on the hospital level it was comfirmed. I threw a frag grenade into another room via a broken "indoor" window (as in, the window was between the two rooms) only to have the grenade get thrown back THROUGH THE WALL by somebody waiting on the other side. I'm positive it clipped straight through the middle of the wall. Kinda ruins the whole "realistic" feel of the game when this kinda stuff hampers your stategy ???

Can anyone tell me if there's a patch coming soon?
I was running around in a rmg level and I scoped someone with my sniper. He was standing beside a rock and was ENTIRELY visible except for one of his hands. My 7.62 bullets kept deflecting on some invisible texture while shooting his head, arms, legs and chest. It really made my blood boil! :s15:
I should've made a screeny, perhaps...

I've tossed the game aside. I'm going to play GTA3 until at least 50% of the forementioned problems are fixed... :s14:
