Ok, My mouse wheel isn't working! I try to use it to switch weapons and it won't work! The only time it does work is when I have a secondary gun out. When I use the wheel then, it automatically whips out my primary gun without going to the next gun in my inventory..

What's up with that!?

just a guess, but you may have pressed the "safe weapons only" button, I'm not sure what the default keypress is for it I,O,P? but if you hit that and then try to change weapons, you will only get "safe" weapons from your inventory.

I have the same problem. I have the Microsoft mouse. The wheel switches weapons until it selects weapon 5, then it doesn't work anymore. When I use the number keys to select another weapon, the wheel does the same thing: works until weapon 5 comes up, then stops.
