For any of you who've tried stuff and still can't get a decent rate in 1024x768 with a decent system, I promise it's not impossible. My PC never seems to run at what it should, and Jedi Outcast was noticably faster in 800x600 as opposed to 1024x768, plus the SOF2 SP demo ran like a -pig- in anything over 640x480, but now I have the full version, I'm running in 1024x768 with apparently perfect framerate, and that goes for the whole of Columbia (haven't reached the foggy ship demo level yet). All I did in between it running badly and it running well was, having read your woes here, install that AMD AGP fix Raven linked to here, install VIA's latest software for motherboards with their chipset, -then- install the game, and edit the config file to say sys_cputhingy 5 instead of 13. It might be significant that I did all this before ever playing the full version, but whatever it was, it certainly worked. Don't give up.

FPS works great on my system... AMD XP 1900 / GeForce 3 TI 500...  my only probs is the thing locks up in single player missions... can't get past the first one.  I would rather have mediocre FPS and be able to play the game than to have fast FPS for 20% of the game.

Check if your north or south bridges on your mother board are a vIA based.

The AMD AGP fix is linked in the SoF2 FAQ.

http://support.microsoft.com/search/preview.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q321938

is one possible registry edit for this.  This is expressly for XP users.

AMD posts a patch that is listed for Win2k - essentially, it's a registry edit:

Bear with me but I have no idea what you are talking about.
