Hi, all

I'm having lots of tearing problems in the game and am certain that I need to turn my V-synch on within the GeForce 4's property settings.

However, I go to "Display Settings", click on the GeForce4 tab, but can't find ANYTHING that says V-Sync. The only setting I notice involves antialiasing.

How do I enable this??? Where can I find the setting?

I'm using WinXP Home edition. Thanks...

in your display properties look for an advanced button, click on it, inside that there should be another set of tabs for your card with yet another advanced or additonal properties button, when you click on that it should open another set of tabs for your geforce card, one of those tabs well be for OpenGL, it's a box you can check or uncheck on that tab.

Or you can enable/disable it in the video menu

Thanks for the suggestions, but I've tried that. It seems I should be seeing a number of extra tabs after clicking on my "additional Properties" tab for the Geforce4, but all I see are two tabs, which are:

3-D Antialiasing settings

and

Overlay controls


The Antialiasing tab consists of two choices - I can choose to let other games control the antialiasing or manually choose it. The "overlay control" tab leads to brightness controls, etc.

I have NO tab that I can find for any Direct3D or OpenGL options. I used to have this with my GeForce2 before upgrading. Something seems wrong here....

Any suggestions?

P.S. - I know I can enable it in the game, but if it's turned off on my card's settings, it doesn't matter.

(Cue whining rant): Good LORD, this is an insane amount of time and effort to devote to playing a game.

My suggestion would be to use the Nvidia Detonator 28.32 drivers from http://www.nvidia.com to get the additional tabs back.

or you could just put /r_swapinterval "1" in the console for q3 games or go into the config file and add

seta r_sawpinterval "1"

I have the latest Detonator XP drivers - even tried uninstalling and reinstalling - same result. My "additional Properties" tab offers NO additional tabs for direct3D, OpenGl, etc. It only offers "Antialiasing" and "Overlay Controls," which is greyed out.

What the *&^% is going on here???

Could a DirectX reinstall possibly help? I don't have a clue how to take the next step. Thanks for any further suggestions....I've written tech support for my card. Hope to get a response by Christmas....

That is odd indeed, ok here is what i would do, go into add/remove programs and uninstall the current nvidia drivers, download the newest drivers again. Go into your device manager and delete your vid card from the list. Reboot. Let the computer redetect your vid card again, then reinstall the drivers.

Wow, that worked, anticonscience. Thanks so much! I also went through the registry and really tried to make a clean sweep of old drivers, and now I have all the tabs back....
