Mapcycle Validator:
--------------------
http://www.tutka.net/~leonva/sof2cycle.zip

Rcon commands:
-----------------
status - shows player client id number, name, score, IP, etc
clientkick <client ID#> - kicks by client id
kick playername - kicks by playername

addip <ip.add.re.ss> - adds IP to banlist
g_banips - lists banned ips, Warning: g_banips allows for 255 characters. Anything beyond that will crash your server, so be careful. Keep in mind that these are characters, not just numbers.
"10.10.10.10" = 11 characters
"10.10.10.10 10.10.10.10" = 23 characters
removeip <ip.add.re.ss> - removes IP

Examples of Rcon usage:
/rcon kick bob
broadcast: print "Bob^7 was kicked\n"

/rcon addip 10.10.10.10

/rcon g_banips
"g_banIPs" is "10.10.10.10^7" default: ""

/rcon clientkick 0
broadcast: print "Bob the Dork was kicked\n"
ClientDisconnect: 0

/rcon removeip 10.10.10.10
Removed.

/rcon g_banips
"g_banips" is "" default: ""

Cheers,
TB

Maxrate/Player/Bandwidth Requirements

Rate is measured in bytes/second.

Say you wished to set the sv_maxrate to 10000. Multiply that by 8; that would give you the maxrate in bits (80000). Multiply that number by the number of clients you wish to host for; that will give you the required bandwidth. You would like to host for 16 clients? You would need 1,280,000 bits of bandwidth to host for that many clients. It's always a good idea to allow for a little overhead. In this case, a T1 (1.544 Mb) would work nicely, provided that you didn't also run an FTP server on the line.

DSL providers usually guarantee 85% of the advertised bandwidth. Cable providers often don't provide any guarantee, especially with upstream. Leased lines such as T1 should be guaranteed the full bandwidth.

In my case, I only have 144k of upstream. Without overhead, I could set the maxrate to 3000 and host for 6, but I allow for the overhead and set the maxrate to 2500 instead, which would require 120,000 bits of bandwidth. I've never had anyone complain that the maxrate was set too low, but if I had more bandwidth, I would set it higher.

A list of leased lines (taken from here):

DS0

   Optical Fiber

 Fast Ethernet
  100.00 Mbps
   LAN/WAN

 OC-3, STS3
  155.520Mbps
   Optical Fiber; 3 x 51.840Mbps

 OC-3c

o.k well the MM server is on a OC-48
 2.488Gbps

So what would be a good rate??

I have it set to 15000 right now.
And it seems to be perfect so far.....

Hi!

Is this setting up to date?

I read this in the Sof2 Runner 0.93:

Quote
default of 56 is required for the client but is overkill for a dedicated server
