Hi there,
i'm sure, there is a big problem with the code, not with the machines.
I have a 1,8 GHz P4, 1GB of RAM and a GF3 with 64 MB/AGP4.
In Single Player i can go through the map without any problem, but if i try to shot, fps goes down to nowhere... With AK74 i can fire one shot in 3 seconds and i can not move anymore. I tried in 640*480 without any effect and everything on the lowest level. Nearly no difference!
I never had the demo installed and i never had problems with other games before.
So please release a fix or i have to send my copy back, because the game is not playable! It seems to be an early beta!

Any Ideas what i can do ? |
if mp works perfectly, do one thing which lots of ppl have suggested...copy the sof2mp.cfg file from the \base\mp folder to the \base folder and rename it as myconfig.cfg (backup the original)..and then run the sp..should get a good fps... |
Yeah i tried that but it did nothing at all  |

I get the exact same problem, my framerates go down whenever I shoot a weapon or if the weapon reloads. It's like shooting sombody in multiplayer with a horrible lag problem, I shoot and then a couple seconds later the guy gets shot. It's horrible! Other than the shooting part the game is silky smooth on my 1800 xp geforce 3 ti200 256 ddr..... So why the bad framerates (lag) when shooting the guns in the Single Player game? |

Do you have force feedback available for your mouse? I think it's on by default. This may be causing the slow fps when you shoot.
In game, bring down the console and type:
set ff_avail 0
set use_ff 0 |

Quote (aggies04 @ June 08 2002, 3:13) | Man that's jacked up. Sorry to hear the prob with fps in sp. I'm just responding because i have similar specs and i'm getting about 50-150+ in SP depending on how open an area is and what not. 45 in big ass areas with a lot of action but that's normally as low as it goes. It runs 1024*768, max detail (textures, models). I turned off the the antialiasing or whatever it is and the fsaa. I'm running XP and the US version of SOF2. |
