I've wanted to tweak out my box for the last little while, I now have a chance since I've built my server.  I'm going to be wipeing my box compleatly clean in abit, and re-installing everything from scratch to see if a "clean" box makes any diffrence in framerates.  In anycase, here are some fps from before the format.

640x480 - 60-80
800x600 - 20-75
1024x768 - 12-35
(at 100hz refresh)
Here is my system for those wanting to know.(at stock)
P4 1.7ghz
Asus P4B266-C w/ 1.06 beta bios(best performance)
512MB Micron DDR 2100 Ram
SB Audigy Gamer
MSI GF3Ti200(stock 175/400) (solid @ 224/480 though, seen an increase of 2-30fps)(29.20 & 29.40 drivers)

I'll post an update on what's what after I'm done setting everything up again.  Then I'll start adding in things one program at a time, as well as common program utilities, and website plug-ins, such as macromedia, quicktime, divx, adaware, norton utlities.  With luck, I might have some answers on possible conflicts.  And or any other stuff.

edit: oops...forgot something :)

I should let you all know that the OS XP Professional, anyway 1st batch run.

Clean install, Audigy Drivers + Update, Nvidia 29.20 beta drivers.

640x480 - 63-85
800x600 - 22-80
1024x768 - 14-36

I'll now head off and start adding things, updates, intel drivers, ect.  I'll simply append this message.

Update:
Driver and other associated updated files gives roughly the same frame rate, plus or minus 3fps, not much of a diffrence.  By the way things are sounding, this might be XP related...what a pain...
