i have sb live! value soundcard with eax support, but i cant enable eax in sound menu, it reverts back to none

You need to install the OpenAL driver. It's found on the first CD, I forget which directory, just browse around.

Pop the first CD in the drive, and wait for the AutoRun menu to pop up. From there, click "Extras" and "OpenAL"
