Yeah the game runs great for me in XP.  I have been very pleased with the XP Pro OS as a whole.  ONce you turn off all the #### that comes with it, so it runs and looks more like Win2K

i think that there are many issues involved here.  The first most common simularity with all these systems is the nvidia video cards.  I have one system with a radeon 8500 and win xp and it runs great, then I have another with win xp and a geforce4 ti4600 liquid cooled and it crashes, freezes, stutters, and everyother symptom read here.  I tried the reg edit for minimum page fault and that made a little difference, then I noticed that xp has irq sharing and has placed my scsi card, sound card, video card and usb on the same irq!!!
 According to xp that should not cause a problem but in the past that was a major no,no!!!  Now, I can run 3dmark2001se at 1024x768x32 and score 10,682 points with zero glitches, or play commanche 4 at the same res. with all other settings on high for hours and hours at a time.  It seems to me that nvidias cards may be good for some things but then they are lacking in something else......so, next week when they release the radeon 9700 I will be posting my results with this game!!!!  Is anyone reading this having any problems with the radeon 8500??

the solution is ovious from the poll move to windows 95 noone running that seems to have any problems  

Windows NT, 2000 and XP pro have a lot of security features.  Beatwen game and hardwer is OS who control averything and slow down game.  If you have fast system, there is no problem.  But if is system on top of it's ability, then is much better solution some home version eg. 98, Me & XP home.  In home version of OS, game comunicate direct with hardware, because of it there is better way for game.  My server run well 30 players with 900MHz Athlon and 512Mb.  My next step is pass to Linux.  I didn't try it, but fallowing other I'll do it.
