Ok there is an insane amount of image tearing in this game.

I've turn VSYNC on, tried it at the lowest and highest settings, tried turning every option on and off, tried all kinds of drivers but it STILL tears everywhere. I bought Jedi Knight II at the same time and it doesnt have image tearing at all so there must be some setting the differs between the two games that is doin it.

I found that by turn up the resolution to around 1280*1024 i can get it so it doesnt really look bad and still get good fps but still when im inside a building it is annoying.

Does anyone know what I could do to stop the tearing?? Is there something im missing? Heres the setup

Amd Athlon 1.33ghz
ECS K7S5A Mobo
256 MB DDR
MSI Geforce4MX440 64mb

Res: 1280*1024
Textures: High

My little bro uses the same setup but he has a 1ghz DURON and he gets the same tearing in SOF2 but not in JKII.

The game looks sweet when im not moving

I had horrid tearing when I istalled my new vid card (a week ago) on almost all games. The things i did to fix it were the following:

1) New 4 in 1 drivers (if you have a VIA board, sorry I did not look)

2) Updated BIOS for my motherboard.

3) Of course latest vid drivers

4) Put refresh rate up as high as you can without frying your monitor.

I will try to think of anything else. Good luck!

i got the refresh rate at 60hz when im playing... is there a refresh rate fix for the 28.32 drivers? I could try setting it to 75hz INGAME but it would be kinda pointless cause i dont hit 75fps....

I have the SIS735 chipset on my board so I cant update those drivers...I updated my bios a couple weeks ago.

Im going to install the game on my Windows 98SE drive and see if the tearing goes away. I just dont know why it would only tear in one game and not all of my games :(

To make sure vsynch is actually on go into your "myconfig.cfg" file and make sure the following line has a "1" instead of a "0" such that it reads:

seta r_swapInterval "1"

Sometimes the in game vsynch can be overriden (I think).  Also make sure your geforce settings are set to turn on vsynch by default to be sure (in your "display" properties settings, etc.).  However, adjusting the swap interval to "1" should do the trick.

Good Luck!

Thanks fellas it works. I changed my monitors refresh rate to 75hz and set  vertsync to always on in Nividia drivers. Now there is no tearing. Thanks!
