First of all, I loved sof1 and I love sof2. They're both very good games, but something really pi**es me off bigtime. The framerate is just incredibly bad, (kind of like mohaa, just worse). I got a P4-1500, 256mb ram and a geforce 3. I think that should be enough, nowadays. And believe me, I know what I'm doing, I got the latest drivers and everything. I have to take back the level of details and not even then it's running allright. So, basically it looks like the firtst part. That sucks!!! The developpers really should have taken the time in order to make a final product, not a fu**ing beta version!! That's a result of all this stupid warez-kids sharing the leaked beta everywhere, so the developpers got under pressure and released the "final" game much to early.
Bad work, and a game that would have been really good now is just bad...

Do you by chance have any programs running in the background? (Anti-virus etc) shut them down. What video drivers are you using? When was the last time your HD was defragged? What OS are you using? If you provide this info someone on the board can probably help.

Man, why is it that people with uber-rigs are experiencing such slow performance? I'm on a pretty meager P3 733 w/ 320 RAM and a friggin' Gforce 2 MX and I've has no problems at all with single player or multi (if I crank everything, I may get a little chop but that's pretty #### reasonable).

When I tell other players my specs online (I'm asked often, not sure why) they always say "jesus you must get crap performance out of that". Nope. I usually run between a 70-90 FPS even on the jungle maps. Combined with my sub 100 ping, I'm always competitive. And this is pretty common. Just take a look at all the posts that start out "WOW! SOF2 sure runs great on my POS system...!"

On the other hand, check out how many posts include "WTF! SOF2 runs like #### on my P4 1.6 gig! w/ Gforce 4!" Something about the new processors or vid cards fails to jive with SOF2. Raven should really start digging (if they're not already) - not fair to the players out there who sunk all that $$$ into high end boxes, only to be outdone by a guy with an old Compaq business machine.

heheh,

its sick, but i get a sadistic satisfaction from all these people with gf4's and 2ghz complaining about crashes and bad fps and what not, when sof2 runs gravy on my humble rig (p3 866 geforce 2 64mb mx).  For the life of me i cant figure out why it would..but hey...*flips the bird* ill relish in it while i can. :D

Weird...I only get like 15-30 fps through the whole game, and I use a Geforce 2 mx also. 1.3 gig Athlon 256 ram  ???

even weirder is my situation...
XP2000+
512 DDR333
Geforce 3

and I never see the FPS go above 30. It doesn't matter what settings I use it seems as though it is limited to show only 30FPS. But the game runs very smooth...

Turn the aniso slider down in the video options. I was stuck at max 37FPS before I found this little trick. I went up to 75+ FPS after that with no noticeable reduction in graphics quality.
