in SP it takes a million years to load ONE level, what gives? I have formatted and clean install everything two days ago JUST for this game...

on the other hand, MP doesn't take that long...

is it because of the settings I chose? I'm running the game at 1280x1024 with "everything" turned up to very high, etc...

yes- just for the heck of it lower the texures to high or lower your screen resolution and watch the load time decrease greatly- personally I don't care about load times as long as everything works well in the game- If you read some of these posts, mine in particular; you'll see that we have a lot of problems with the frame rate at any resolution or setting-

really? frame rate problems? I'll read up some of them, but with the settings I am using, 1280x1024, everything maxed FPS is actually very playable (30-50fps)...thats why I didn't go down a lower res, I guess I don't mind waiting for the level as long as it looks good, hehe...

It does not matter what resolution you have it as, there is still mega slow loading times.  Im going to DL the new VIA AGP drivers and see if that works.

If this doesn't work I am going to try this register edit.

I will post again if this works.  Or if anyone else knows of this...let me know.

Note:
The load times are going to be long if you have Texture Quality set to "Very High".
There's just a lot of data you're having to cram somewhere if you're using that.

well niether of the ideas i had, worked.  So I am definately open to new ideas.  I have to think that the texture quality would not hinder it as much as it does, because i can load MOHAA and MaxPayne levels 20 times faster than a SOF2 or JK2 level.  I think it is something within the way the software is written.  I can run max payne at 1152, why do i have to run SOF2 at 640.

Same here my rig can load the games you just metioned mohaa and max payne pretty fast with everything enabled and set on high but jk2 and sof2 take about 2-3 minutes to load and i am forced to play sof2 at 640x480 cause it lags too much at anything higher but due to ravens remarkable ability to make the #### game look soooo purdy i am still verymuch pleased with it :s10: . As for jk2 the game i can turn up to around 1024x768 and it runs soothly and  lags in some spots but it still kicks ass. Personally i think that raven makes good games for good people and their ghoul 2 gore technology should be implemented into every game to date from sof2 to britneys dance party for the playstation 2 wouldnt that be fun lol . Any hoo heres my system specs to help out the people at raven.

It takes the most time on RMG maps and the big ass ones, I used to look forward to them, now I just say "bugger" when ever I get to one.
