Don`t know what is wrong with the game. First off, it runs like crap on my system at first " intro " mission. Sometimes I see my fps chugg to about 10 fps. The biggest problem is quitting to desktop and the engine giving me this problem " malloc error couldn`t allocate x nuber of ram at Zone1. Any workaround for this?

System :

XP 1800+, 512 ddram, nvidia msi nforce nv 415 mobo, creative gf4 4600 TI, winXP ( pro ) Would be glad if somebody could give me a helper ...

----- Server Shutdown -----

Freeing shader text .....
Failed to malloc 10617541 bytes in ZONE!

This is what the game reports when quitting back to desktop. Am I the only one with this problem? I also have soundstuttering en masse ... not cool spending lots of money on this when it just doesn`t work ...

Try these XP drivers for your GeForce 4 and XP:
http://216.40.248.24/nvitaliaftp/drivers/beta/Win2kXP-2940.zip

Let me know if it fixes the problem.

what beta? Geezus crist. I never had the beta, you dumb ass!! And I resent anyone thinking I did. I went thru my registry as well, and the demo left no entries.

Same error on both my systems. One a Radeon 128 MB and the othe a GF4 Ti4600.

Caused anytime I try to usea load game feature.  Either using the menu or the quick load.

Crashes to desktop with - Failed to malloc -1254993099 bytes in ZONE!  The number in the error does vary, but not the problem.  Any ideas?  My specs are in my sig.

*bump*  I have this problem.  I see mention of this error in a few different threads.  It's a specific error, yet I see no "qualified" response to it.  Kenn lists beta drivers for a nVidia card.  That's fine.  I'll give them a try, but if it's a nVidia driver issue, why am I getting the same error on my Radeon machine?

I am certainly glad that MP was added, cause if it wasn't, I'd be one very unhappy customer.

Turn longevity down?  Why?  Didn't QA try the game with longevity maxed?  I'm sure my systems can handle it.  Is there a bug we should know about?

Oh yeah, in another thread, Kenn asked if a person's cpu or video card were overclocked....what's that got to do with anything?

If someone has an overclocked system that runs everything perfectly and is rock stable...why would it not run this game properly?  I don't think AMD or Intel are offering kickbacks to software developers to add code that will crash systems if they are overclocked.
