:s9: Sof III ???? #### if sof2 is this good im definately getting sof III. For all you winy bit ching complaining sob's, what the hel l is your problem>? You have bought a kick ass game that will give you years of enjoyment. It isnt ravens fault that the game has so many bugs. They were rushed by activision to put the game out on the market asap. Mainly because sof1 did so good. Trust me raven is on the problem at hand and you will get your higher resolution and fps increases when they address and find the fps bug. I too am currently stuck with a 640X480 resolution. But i dont care since anti-anailasing smooths out most of the jaggies. Raven is a good company of  hard working gaming geniuses. Give them time and they will right the wrongs brought on by activision.

System specs
vid card: visiontek gf3 ti-500 28.13 ref drivers
ram: 384 mb pc 100 sdram
motherboard: jabil kadoka
processor: amd athalon thunderbird slot a 900mhz 256 cache
soundcard: soundblaster audigy platnium retail drivers
direct X version: 8.1
hard dive: 20 gig 7,200 rpm
gameplay: good but could be better with patches. :)

quote for the day: anyone can do anything but it takes someone to do something great.

I am running the game at 1024x768x32 at all high detail settings. I had to install the game from scratch 16 times to get it to function even remotely properly. Alot of the time my crashes are now when trying to load to the next level after completing a mission. So to get this to work good for me, I have to save game right at the spot just before the next level starts, in the area where it says "move forward to exit". rofl

Then I inevitably have to reboot and go to my save and see if the next level will load. Barring the fact that the game is the buggiest thing I ever bought off the shelf, I too wonder wtf the game self detects my system, and says it will load up an optimized setting for my specs.

for a PIII 1 gig, ti500 Hercules, 512 megs of PC133 ram, SB Live Value etc, no one is gonna tell me with a straight face that the best detected resolution is 640x480<----- roflmao I guess we are NOT being eased into the future, and with 1 fell swoop SOF 2 is making systems like mine bottom of the line to obsolete????
And tho its real nice PR to say this game is built for present and future rigs, but at least make sure its running great on the setups the gaming community has now. What good is future rigs when by then SOF 3 will be out, we will be sporting nVidias next gen video cards, Parhelias, agpx8, dx 9.0, 2+ gig cpus the list goes on.
SOF 2 will be nothing but a memory by then.
Ya know the funny thing here dudes?  The sp part of the game really doesn`t have any long lasting substance. And the multiplayer which everyone at Raven says in interviews was the last minute addon not planned at the initial developement stages for SOF 2, THATS what makes the game worth owning.
I tell you all, after just playing up to the Seaward Star so far? I could do without the sp part of the game. The only thing really rocking is the sp RMG, the multiplayer game and ITS RMG maps. <--- This stuff came to us rock solid.
Had they just left out the SP part of the game and delivered what I described above to market, this game would be getting nothing but kudos.
I was really looking forward to the sp game, but when I finally got it to play all I see is an onrails mazelike experience. Mind you, the ideas for completing the missions like freeing dudes who were captured, setting bombs on gates and key areas yadda yadda yadda, these were thoughtfully well done.
But going thru the level loads every 3 minutes, mazes, hall crawls etc, just doesn`t interest me. I am sure alot of dudes dig this, but it feels so old design to me, and doesn`t hold my interest at all.

Long story short, multi is where its at for SOF 2, its what SOF 2 will be remembered for, that and the buggier than thou SP initial delivery that I am sure many are hoping to see the issue resolved.lol

SOF2 dosn't even work on my computer, get a grxpff.dll error when I try to load.  I've installed the latest drivers for my video card did all the amd & xp crap but still dosn't work.  I've given up on the game, just waiting to see if a patch is released that will address the many issues that have been brought up.

Raven should have a close look at these message forums, sorry to say Raven but you fouled up on this one.  Look at all the problems people are  having and all the complaints that are comming out, you guys goofed somewhere.  As to the comment on building the game for higher spec machines and ones that will be comming out later... Not sure if this is true but what game company does that... by the time anyone has the specs required to run this game with any descent look to it a better game will be out and everyone will forget about SOF2.... Just my comments, if anyone can help with my error would be grateful.

Specs
AMD XP 1700+
1 gig ddrram
32 meg ELSA Synergy III video card (I suspect this is the problem although I have no problems running other games such as GO and JKII)
40 gig hd
WIN XP Pro
