I have been getting an unusually high ping on the call of duty 2 server that i play on. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to lower ping. Also there is one specific map that i get very high ping on. This is a custom map. Could it be because portals were not used?

Make sure your rate is set to max, change ur connection type in cod2 And for the custom map it could be because it was not compiled with Vis, which means the server has to transfer more information to you when playing

well im pretty sure it was compiled with vis but as i was saying would not having portals have anything to do with it because when no one is on the map runs perfectly, but when there are 20 people there is some slowdown. Also how do you do this: Make sure your rate is set to max, change ur connection type in cod2.
