Many times I download a new map to find that it is a .zip file of folders. How can I convert these to .iwd.

I've tried that. The game does not reconize the file don't the folders need be compressed into .iwd file instead of renamed.

No...maybe your zip file is corrupted. What map are you talking about and where did you download it?

no, what you do with a .zip is extract it, if you have winrar or winzip right click on it > go to WinRAR or WinZip > Extract Here or Extract to Here.
But if you dont have winzip or whatever and have windows XP, double click on it and drag the .iwd out of it.
And if you have a different O/S, you'll have to download WinZip or WinRAR

I"m afraid you don't understand. The zip file has only folders that would normally be inside the .iwd file. I need to make those folders a .iwd file.

The map is mp_streets2 from codutility.com

There is no iwd file. Only the folders that make up the contents of the iwd are inside the zip file. When the iwd file was uploaded to this webserver it made it a zip file instead of keeping it iwd. It has to be compressed into a iwd.

Lets try it this way. We'll say we've made a map and the folders are now ready to be compress it into a iwd. That is what is needed for we don't have a iwd at this time.

Like I said, put the zip file mp_streets2.zip on your desktop and you rename it mp_streets2.iwd by clicking right on it. Thats all.

Anyway I changed the file. Its now a zip file with an iwd inside.... We also do support on Codutility...when there's a problem with our stuffs [ohwell]

That does not work.

One Mo Time. There is NO IWD file in the zip. Only the folders that would make up the compressed iwd file had it been compressed before it was uploaded.

Look usually the iwd is in the zip, but in this case it only contains the folders that the iwd should contain. Cod2 does not read a zip file with folders as a iwd file.

Answer the question as if it was a finished map and iwd compression was the intention.
