I have almost finished my version of a working waterfall using modifed effects from COD2.

I will post the files once it is to my staisfaction.

It is a tall thin waterfall for my map, so if you want it bigger, you will have to edit the effects files yourselves.

This is Directx 7 version 4x Antialiasing.

This is Directx 9 version 4x Antialiasing.

More Later.

I have been working hard on a waterfall. I would appreciate it if you could show me how to do it because everything I tried has failed. Maybe a pm?

Hi again.

I have finished my working waterfall, and am passing on the result to you all. The waterfall is constructed to suit my map, so if you want it different, then you will have to use the COD2 effects editor to alter it.

Download it here.

i have no idea how to use that effects editor. what would be awsome is a video tutorial on how to use that. I don't suppose you could make one could ya? I could, but i don't have the slightest idea on how to use that editor

For those of you who are having problems.

Extract the fx folder to your main folder.

Run the Effects editor and open.

This should take you to the main/fx folder, if it doesn't then just browse to the main/fx folder, then into yourmapname folder and there should be the efx files.

Choose the waterfall file and it should open.

clicking on 'play effect' will play the effect once.

clicking on 'Edit Playback Settings' will allow you to repeat the playing of the effect.

In the list in the bottom left window are the component parts of the waterfall. Unticking or ticking the components will cause that component to not play or play.

Some of the components are just clones of others but with differrent life spans etc, this just adds depth to the effect.

If you want to learn how to do this, then just extract the waterfall effect from COD to your COD2 main/fx folder and edit it with the settings from my waterfall until you get an idea of how it works.

You can extract all the effect files from cod2 into the fx folder and have a look at what they do, and maybe edit them to suit your map.

This is how I have managed to get the High level bombers and Low Level Bombers from COD into my COD2 Map.

A Lot of time was spent working out how the editor works and how to get the shader files working properly in COD2.

Any questions, the please ask.

Spikenaylor.
