hey is there such thing as a skin program (i decided to take break from making maps) if there is.. whats is it called and if its free or not

Do you mean an image editing program with which you can modify skins? If so I'd suggest GIMP, it's like a free Photoshop.

If you don't have a .dds converter or plugin, you won't get very far...

Hope that helps also.

And free trials can be downloaded for most image editing programs, the best programs probably made by:

Adobe & Macromedia

Don't forget macromedia was bought by Adobe, so they are from the same company ;)

Use Gimp and the Nvidea .dds plugin.

for sum reason i cant find the plugin folder for GIMP so i convert the dds to a jpg or w/e so i can edit it then whjen im done i switch it back to dds.

Thanks for the posts they helped me alot maybe ull c some skins out of it u never know...

The DDS plugin also works in Paint Shop Pro 5 or newer for those of you who do not have Photoshop (like me).
