Try a different dust fx until you find one the one your looking for.

what are some other dust effects. i thought i was using the same one as matmata. I like that effect are you sure i didnt just do somethingwrong. Anyway what are some other dust effects i dont know where to find them.

ok i finally got the dust working the way i want it. The only other thing is that in some spots the dust ends up inside building and going through walls. now i realize that i could just change the placement but is there another way to keep the dust out of the vuildings (kinda like when i here about people complaining that its raining inside their buildings). Let me know thanks.

ok now that I have a dust effect is there a way to also add a sand blowing effect in addition to the dust effect.

By doing exactly what you did to add the other effects.

well when i did the dust effects i used the effect "dust_wind". What would be a sand effect that I could try.

Open the .iwd's and look around.

There is also an effects editor program, so you can see what the effect will look like without having to add one to your map and start CoD2.
