Hi, how do you make good roofs? Do you use Terrain or just the block, but rotated? I am trying to make slanting roofs. Any tutorials posted would be fantastic. Thanks

Select te brush u want to use for the roof
press E and look in the 3d window
Click on the blue dot u want to slant, and just pull it
up down around or any way you want
Then get the brush beneath it and slant it evenly
:) nice slanty roof

The way I do it is make a huge flat brush to cover your entire building. Overlap the edges a little bit, for your normal roof overhang, then cut that brush in half, where you want the peak to be.

Go to the side view, so that you can see your two halves, then like bouncy said, select on brush, press E, and drag both inside edges straight up, to form one side of your peak. Do the same with the other brush. Then select both brushes, and move them down so they're touching your building again.

If the attic space under the roof won't be accessible, take another large brush to cover your building, but this time, match up the edges with the outside of the outer walls. Make the brush tall enough to reach the bottom of the peak. Then just use the clipper tool (X) to cut that brush to fit the space underneath the roof. With just the huge fill brush selected, put your first clip point at the bottom of the peak of the roof, and your second clip point at the bottom outside edge of the roof brush. That way the fill brush will match exactly.

(right click on the image, and select view image to see the detailed picture)

Then just texture, and you're done.

As an adder to med's post which is good I cut the brushes along the line of the walls and seperate the overhang. Then you can texture the edges and underside to provide the look of an actual soffit and fascia as on a real building. Alt
