i made a little server just for me and my friends to play on. i found the ip adress and i gave it to them. they can start to connect to the server but there "awaiting connection" kepps going up.

i think i might have a firewall that is blocking them to joining the game.

if it is can anyone tell me how to take it down??

if its not and u know how to fix it plz tell me

They can't connect because 192.168.1.109 is the private ip address assigned by the router behind your outside ip address to your machine. For them to join you need the outside "Internet address" that allows you on the net. This can usually be found in the main page of your router settings and does not start with 192.168.x.x or a quit reference would be
http://www.whatismyip.com/ after you locate your "internet address" you'll still need to enter the information in your router in Port Fowarding directing it to the 192.168.1.109 and port number: 28960

If you use dsl you can save some time by call the provider, actually reguardless of what connection you us they are helpful with this kind of thing. Try calling them.

Port forwarding help.
http://www.portforward.com/cports.htm

How to set up a server help.
http://www.olddogvt.net/cod-firewall/

See whether your server is published to game browser.
http://stats.callofduty.com/

Take Saimon's advice on how to locate your external IP address.

Once you have your server working correctly, you will find it published as a local server. You will NOT be able to see it in the Internet Servers list.

Other people connecting from a different IP address will be able to see it as an internet connection.

Consider how you are going to handle distributing mods/custom maps.

You could set up http redirect if you have web space some where. Usually your ISP will provide you with a limited amount with your internet account. My ISP gives me 20 meg, which is enough for 6 or so smaller custom maps. 200 would be nice.
