Hi I've now finnished my first mp-map I just want to do a last thing - the loadscreen I already managed to create a .def file, so the map appears in the map selection, but there's no thumbnail and when I run the map, the loadscreen doesn't appear...please help Slagjoeyoco

if you had my book, you'd know. - Take whatever image you plan to use and resize it to 512x512 pixels. - save it in the folder C:\Program Files\id Software\Quake 4\q4base\gfx\guis\loadscreens\yourmapname.tga If the folders don't exist, create them. - then within your definition file, enter: loadscreen "gfx/guis/loadscreens/yourmapname" If you want to create a thumbnail for your map to be seen when selecting the map from the list: - resize the image to 256x256 - save it in the folder C:\Program Files\id Software\Quake 4\q4base\gfx\guis\mainmenu\yourmapname.tga - then within your definition file, enter: mp_thumb "gfx/guis/mainmenu/yourmapname"

ok thanks - and concerning your book - i looked for it, but didn'find it; I mean I live in Austria, pretty difficult to get an american mapping book... Oh something else: why aare there really no projects about quake4?

okay, thanks - I'll try to get it But just want you to know, maybe you thought that I live in Australia - but I said Austria...that little country in the middle of Europe, to the east of Swizzerland... but thanks anyway

Austria. lol. If I could find it, I wouldn't know it because of the language barrier. However, if I found the book in Australia, I would assume it's available in Austria. Then again, because the book is written in English, it may not be listed. I wish I could be of more help. I guess having it shipped internationally would be too costly. Otherwise you could order it in the UK.

lol that's no surprise you couldn't find it - it's only 50,000sq miles large and originally called Österreich (or Oesterreich) but let's see if having it shipped internationally is really that expensive...
