Ill cut straight to the point , i am making a map and there are sections of the level that the player could trick jump and get under / outside the playing area, what is the brush called that stops the player from doing this but still allows bullets and grenades to pass through ?

Well, if the part you can trick jump through is a wall, make sure it's NOT a non colliding brush... Why do you want bullets and grenades to go THROUGH a wall???


You can also make a trigger that kills people who attempt the trick jump. Heres how.



In Radiant, go to the part of the map that you need to be on where the trick jump starts. Unless it is low and normally should be walkable, then go to the next point in your trick jump, if it's still too low, then move on until you find a point where you would definately have to jump from one point to get there, not from the ground to that point, but from an object, brush, etc. Then right click in the 2-D window and select trigger ---> kill (or trigger ---> hurt) (hurt doesn't kill you immediately, but will if you stay there for too long) Then make it into a box on the object, make sure that it is big enough for A WHOLE PLAYER to fit in, otherwise it won't work right. Place the trigger box exactly where you want it, and give it the trigger texture. (I think I might be wrong about the texture part, could an admin help me???) Then repeat if there are other trick jumps you could accomplish in your map.

its a barbed wire frence in which the enemy is on the other side, they cant walk though the fence bt a wall near by allows them to jump over it and also a jeep or tank can help them get across.

I took a picture of what i mean,



thea idea is that they are suppose to go through the house's
while some cover them from the other side of the fence

Use the method I described adnd put a kill trigger on the barbed wire and the area that is reachable by the jumps... You could also move the jeeps out of the way, or make the wall smaller so that you cant get from it to the fence.

In the common textures there is one called player clip. Make a wall using this texture where you don't want the player to go. Bullets can still pass through but the player can't.
