unfortantly is is not for me

in the camera window in radiant the textures on my walls are not appearing can anyone help me plz. i will try to post a screen shot later!!

Yes if the texture appear as 'red and black' then you have not got a compatible or updated video card.

If you just cant see them from a distance it may be 'cubic clipping'

ok i have directX 9.0 c and this is my video card:

nVIDIA GeForce MX 4000

specs.
GPU: NVIVIDA GeForce MX 4000
Bus Type: AGP
Memory: 128MB DDR
Core Clock: 275MHz
RAMDACs: Dual 350MHz
API Support: Microsoft DirectX 9.0 and lower, Open GL 1.5 and lower for Microsoft Windows
Connectors: VGA, S-Video Out
Triangles/sec.:31 million

is the underlined part the problem or can i update my drivers and it will work fine???

That means your card is not compatible. DirectX software and DirectX harware is not the same...

For an example, an ATI(R) Radeon(R) 9200 will let you play the game in DirectX 7 with a low-medium quality of image but you won't be able to use the Mods Tools to make maps.
