Background: I have Installed the new Windows Vista and now I get some error-Messages when I try to save my Work.

Does The Radiant work correctly with Vista?
If yes, how?
If not...Aaaaargh!!!![banghead]

Go in and be sure that AUTOSAVE is unchecked and also be sure that the directory (folder) is not write protected. This part is a WINDOWS ISSUE....
TO CHECK THE AUTOSAVE in CODradiant, go to the menu and select
EDIT menu item, then the PREFERENCES submenu.
Now uncheck
[ ] Auto save every [ 5 ] minutes...

I am having the same damn problem, and I get the error message
========================================
Radiant MFC Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
========================================
To make sure the Directory (folder) is not write-protected, use Explorer... (at least with Windows XP)
RIGHT CLICK ON THE START BUTTON, then LEFT CLICK on Explore, then find the directory that your map will be saved in, and RIGHT CLICK on it, and then LEFT CLICK on PROPERTIES. Be sure that READ ONLY IS UNCHECKED.
======================================
I am VENTING A WHOLE BUNCH OF CRAP TO THE CODradiant PROGRAMMERS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, BECAUSE WHEN THEY WROTE THE CODE FOR THIS PROGRAM, IT APPEARS AS THOUGH THEY ARE NOT DOING ANY ERROR CHECKING WHEN SAVING FILES... GOOD LUCK

2 new Things:

1. I started the Compatibility Programm and Put the Radiant in there(Checked it) works.
2. after half an hour I got a Message from Microsoft, there stands:
Thank you for informing us, the Programm will work now.

This is Customer Service, isn´t it?

wow this topic is old. yes, it is Microsoft's help service. however sending them the error doesn't always help. most of the time you'll have to repair it yourself. just hope that next time you get an error it doesn't destroy your computer[tongue]

I found that disabling UAC prevents Radiant crashing upon saving.

So that's; Control Panel (classic view) - User Accounts - Turn User Control off - reboot PC.
