The CoD and UO alpha blending tutorials are applicable to CoD2.

CoD2 alpha textures are identified by the word "blend" in the name, for the most part.

i thought i mess up with alpha blending - sometimes it worked, sometimes not... [banghead]

now i'm 99,9% sure, that you need "blendable" texture, which differ from non-blendable texture in only one point:

in the asset manager you have to set "blendFunc" to "blend"
(create a new material first like making normal texture files) [idea]

...and nothing more. You must NOT check transparent or non-solid ("special surface properties") [thumbs_up]

that's only when you want to make your own custom blendable texture, Sevenz.

not all stock textures are blenable, so it should be possible to reconvert the iwi to dds and compile it again with blendFunc->blend or am i wrong?

while thats all true Sevenz, the author of this thread wasn't asking how to make alpha blendable textures. I think he wants to know how to blend them once in the editor.

the "how" is explained in tutorials and other threads, to know that you need blendable textures (and how to make 'em) was the sticking point for me [idea]
