good point about the barn and the visual. I completely agree you don't want to spoil the effect of the map by being able to see the deadzones etc.
I just watched your video for the beta, interesting, a lot of work to get coordinates though!! Personally I prefer the way you have it now, hearing the guns firing in the distance (artillery was always quite far from the intended target).
Can I suggest you look at the method used in Red Orchestra for arty? I only have beginner map skills so I'm not sure what's involved for scripting/programming in COD2 but in Red Orchestra if you find a CP (command post) with a radio and binos you can use the binos, click 'fire' while using the binos (it's acknowledged on the radio also) and the area you are looking at will get hit in a few seconds with an arty barrage . You have to wait a while to get a second barrage as it takes time for the arty guys to reload the guns. This is much closer to reality.
Just a thought, if it's possible.
