since I have quake 4 installed and not doom 3, I will build a super simple sp mod with a single map. I'll put it together and send it over to you. You can compare it to what you have.

OK.. so you got a mod showing up and you can load this new mod (as per the mod list in the hud). Trouble is, when you press "Start new game" it loads the original game's first levvel and not your first level.

This is a tricky one to fix, but once you know how, it's easy. What controls the game to load is the GUI. When you select "start game" in the single player games, the button in the GUI tells the game which map to load. You need to change this first map.

- Extract from one of the pk4 files the file guis\mainmenu.gui

- search this file for something like "map game" or "consoleCMD". This map game is the first map it is going to load.

- Then change the map name to your first map.

In quake 4, I found the following code (that I already changed) on line 19689:

			onAction {
				consoleCMD "map game/sp_test" ;
				
				set "cmd" "play main_menu_selection" ;
			}

You see I changed it to sp_test which is my test map.

Then just save this new mainmenu.gui file in your mods folder.
