EDIT: By the way - that's a tree and it's fine in-game but I can't position it well in the editor if I can't actually see the model. [pimp]

Look on you toolbar for a icon which says 'Show entities as'

Select it and make sure the option 'skinned and boxed' it selected.

he has a custom desktop theme, and thats why his bars look like that.

I got that particular visual style from the vista transformation pack.

Here

I'm using Aero Style (Beta 1) with the default colour scheme.
