I know it's been posted before, I just can't find it.

Can anyone explain how to make a wall that will only appear in one gametype?

The wall must be a script_model or a script_brush then use the following

key = script_gameobjectname

value = ctf

and the value would be the gametype it will show up in.

How do I get a brush to show up in all game types but one?

I'm trying to make a custom bomb site for S&D on my map, but explode part of a building that I want in the other game types. From what I understand, I'll have to make 3 versions of the building, right? One pre-explosion, one post, and one for the other game types?

If need need it to show up in all gametypes bar 1.

As Veef said use
key = script_gameobjectname

value = ctf tdm dm hq sd

As long as its a script_brushmodel, but then just leave out the gametype you dont want it the brush to be in.
I think you only need 2 versions of your house aswell. And only do the part that needs to be explode.

Does this work with structural terrain?

I have a big piece of terrain to only appear when the gametype is ctf and dm, but it still shows up in tdm [confused]

classname = script_brushmodel (there is no "script_brush" unless you manually type it)
key = script_gameobjectname
value = ctf dm

is the value like that? or do you need a comma and a space like "ctf, dm"?

I am entering these in the Entities window when I have that single terrain highlighted

classname = script_brushmodel
script_gameobjectname = ctf dm

that's the way it should be done. in this case "script_gameobjectname = ctf dm" is called a key/value pair, with script_gameobjectname being the key and ctf dm being the value.

Thanks man, I've done this before, but not for this topic. As I was typing in "key" in the "Key" field, the bell didn't go off in my head.


Now I'm at a problem where it's not showing up at all, but I think I figured it out (accidentally entered that pair in the worldspawn values) I don't know how I always accidentally do that ><
