is it possible to make your own collition map file?
is it as simple as opening the .map of the model, texturing it with clip and saving it as somthing else?
i would like to make a clip version of xmodel/prop_rock
:)
thanx

Start a new .map

Load your model (right click - misc - model)

Make sure your model has an origin of 0, 0, 0

Load up the 'clip' texture.

Create the shape of the model from clip brushes.

Save the map as 'nameofmodel.map' (where nameofmodel is the name of the model you have loaded)

Place this in your collmap folder.

Now when you compile you map you should not see an error reporting the collmap is missing.

The collmap directory is "Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 2\Collmap" but you can not break apart the rock to texture as if it were a brush.

hmm
turning out to be more complex than i thought

if i was good at making complex shapes making a collmap for the rock probably wouldnt take too long, but im not :(
would i have to use the cuting tool at all sorts of strange angles?
if anyone could have a look at xmodel/prop_rock and gimme some pointers twould be great.
idealy i want big hurtgen style rocks for one section of my map but cant figgure out how to make them [ohwell][ohwell][ohwell]
