Yes that would make them useless and so the problem would still exist. Make your outer wall structual and the portal texture ( blue one ) must connect to the edge of portal texture ( blue one ) that is the roof.

I already did that...made outer and inner walls structural and all the rest inside detail...
Also i did the corners of the portal "cube" just like you do in a skybox...they are joining in a 45 angle...so i think they are perfectly "shut"...

Well i don't see your outside wall in the picture so i guessed it was detail, plus you will need to portal any entrance in those walls as well ie:your hidden entrances.
