Would it be possible to transfer models(elevators, monorails, etc.) over from Doom 3 to Quake 4? If so which files would need moving, and where?

i don't think it's possible since doom and Quake use diffrent engines and therefor diffrent ways to create maps , textures , scripts

Actaully, Killjoy, you would be wrong with that assumption. Quake 4 was built off of the Doom 3 engine. You could almost call Quake 4 a total modification of Doom 3.

Now, I haven't tried mixing and matching models, but I think it can be done. You will need to copy over the model, it's textures and definition files. It won't be the easiest thing to piece together, but it can be done.

I recommend starting with the model viewer that's built into the game (when I say the game, I mean both games). I Chapter 18 of Quake 4 Mods for Dummies I go over the methods of reskinning a character. In doing so, I show you how to find all the texture files for the model so you can modify them. I think this same method can be used to help you locate many of the files used in your model.

Load up the game. Open the console. Enter "modview" and run the model viewer program. Locate your model and look around for all of the associated files for that model. That should get you the skinning information at the very least. IT should also help you to find the model's file.

Then, copy these files over to the same directories in your Quake 4 installation. If the directories don't exist, make them.
