On my laptop since i installed program updates, Jasc Paint Shop Pro & Internet Explorer 7 beta 3. Everytime i try to open a folder search comes up instead of the folder.

Some kind of trojan perhaps?

Searched my whole computer using AVG and it picked up nothing, we tried system restore but we still have the same problem.

The "beta" is probably a hint; I'd troll the Microsoft forums for similar issues with other installs. Not likely it's PSP, but highly likely its the pre-release version if IE messing with something.

I did the Jasc Paint Shop Pro update yesterday and no problems appear. Maybe its caused by your micropuff update.

I think you're asking in the wrong forums; since it's very likely it was the IE addition that caused the issue, you'll have better luck on an IE support site...not that you won't find the answer here, but you'll improve your odds if you ask in a forum devoted to IE.

Its not likely to be a PSP issue, like I said. Since it happened after you installed PSP and IE, and since IE is a beta, it's a safe bet it has to do with the IE install, and uninstalling may not repair the issue.

Have a look here, search for "Search Opens When Double Clicking A Folder", right-click the link and save to your hard drive, then double-click on that to edit your registry - should sort it out (hopefully), but be warned that editing the registry can be very dangerous.
