Hey Foyleman It's cool that you take the time to make tutorials for the community but, I do have a problem with the .mov file , the thing is I hate everything Apple . Apple sucks just like there computers . You dont know how dissapointed i was when I waited the half an hour download time just to see that its a stupid Apple quicktime file . Now I know that some people like everything Apple and thats ok for them ,but for us other people who use media player or divx ,xvid we feel left out so if you could you could spare the bandwith and upload it in media player format too that would be tits.....
I love that you guys are doing the modsonair thing again I have listened to every episode from the begning .... thanx and keep up the good work...

this discussion has been had numerous times...the reason that the videos were released in quicktime is 3 fold

1 - the file size is smaller with superior compression abilities

2 - the quality of the video is many times better than that of any other video formats available

3 - because we chose to

the header of the download tells you that this is in quicktime7 format and explicitly states that you need quicktime7 to view it

im a diehard pc fan, but quicktime is far superior to anything available from microsoft or any other pc only medai player

I understand Artimus. However, Stryder hit the nail on the head. I tried several compression methods and it turns out that this quicktime is really the best. I was surprised. I wanted one of the other codec to be better, but it wasn't.

When comaring the video side-by-side, the quicktime video was distinctively more clear. I could make out all the words that were being typed. The only way to make this happen with the other compression methods is to make the video size larger and that means alot more downloading.

Also, when compared to the resolution of WMV file, the filesize was only about 2-5 percent larger in the quicktime format. The choice after that was clear (hehe, like the video).

I will consider your request and thanks for making it. If I can, I will try to compress in two formats and see which wins out in the downloads. This last Prey video was a rush job in that I only had two hours to do it all and it ended up taking 3.5 (luckily my time machine was back from the shop and I could get it all done).
