It's official now. AMD has indeed forked over $5.4 billion (yes, with a "B") for the acquisition of ATI . It will be interesting to see if this results in some sort of combination of hardware.

Well - I normally buy AMD and Nvidia - This may very well change how we buy our Graphics cards??? They're sure to offer incentives...you know, to stay with ATI...or switch .

I have often used ATI. My current card is a Radeon X600 so will be interesting to see what AMD do with the company (if anything) and what effectives it will have on: A. the market as a whole; and B. the customers opinions and their choice of products.
