one minute im making a map then i save and come ont the site to look at something. now i cant get sky textures

I can't either, you just have to press "S" then type for texture something like sky/mp_carentan. There is a list of the textures you can use in this tutorial(about worldspawn settings); http://www.modsonline.com/Tutorials-read-106.html

yeh but how do i see the textures becuz when i do that sky thing it just goes back to the purple checkerboard thing

The sky will come up as a red and black "checkerboard" if you type in the right texture name. If you do the worng thing it'll come up as blue and black "checkerboard"
