Havent been here for ages, neither done any cod mapping. Im starting up again with a simple aim map for my clan but got stuck with the terribly easy .gsc file.. Or even trying out my map. I have all the files(bsp,poly etc..) which is compiled from codUO compiler bla bla bla. How is the .gsc file gonna look so i can try my map (Its teamdeathmatch btw).. I actually knew this and i knew sounds and stuff but as said i havent been doing this for ages. So how is it solved? ^^

I have copied a normal .gsc file with this:
main()

game["russian_soldiertype"] = "veteran";

The issue is that when i load my map its deathmatch (no matter what, and i can't choose team just watch a single part of my map).

Did you make a .arena file so you can select TDM in your "create new server" menu?
Did you add a tdm_intermission and tdm spawnpoints?

The .gsc file doesn't have anything to do with the ability to play a TDM game. That's all in your map.

you can also try this:

In your console type:
/set g_gametype tdm
/map [your mapname]

this should start your map in tdm, if your map supports it.


edit: Also, you say your map is compiled for CoDUO, but this is the CoD forum... do you want to play your map in CoD or CoDUO? Because a map compiled for UO can't be played in normal CoD.

Also just as a reminder case you forgot. For COD and uo you will need at least one dm spawn and one dm intermission before it will play any gametype at all.

Caretaker never heard of codUO compiler? it works for CoD to... So i need an arena file before i can walk around in my map with tdm?

I now have the .arena file so i have it on my list in "Start new server" But i can't choose team when im opening the map up.



Another question: How do i change the camera position that shows when you load the map. Like in dawnville when you load the map in mp it shows the graveyard before you choose team. Mine is inside a texture and it looks awfull.

Have you positioned your intermissions?

From top down view you can rotate them untill they point in the direction you wish to view at the start of your map.

Also if you change to a side view you can "angle" then down a touch. When you do rotate them you should be able to see an arrow pointing from the intermission box indicating the direction of view.

i have 2 intermissions and what do they do? are that the camera position at the beginning of game?

I positioned the teamdeathmatch intermission in the middle of the map, still the camera views inside a texture. Does that prevent my map from starting properly?
