I haev searvched both Google and this site for answers, I found a post about this, but nothing in there could help me.

You guys know how your map looks like when you compiled it, without having any worldspawnsetting? Well, my map looks the same, but I do have worldspawnsettings defined in my .map file.

I used the worldspawnsetting used in mp_berchtesgaden by Sgt.DeAtH{WoD}

So I maid a new map, called it test, and tried the same worldspawnsettings in that map, no effect, then I tried the ones from mp_chateau, same story, no effect.

Also, my map doesn't show up in the list of maps in Call Of Duty (you know which one I mean, the one you get after clicken start new server)

your longhorn map is leaked. Check if your skybox is tight.

Your test map doesn't show lighting, because you're not running your flare correctly. There is a tutorial on how to run it correctly in the UO tutorial section.

As for the map not showing up in your map list... Make sure you've saved the .arena file in the correct folder and that it's not a .arena.txt file instead of an .arena file. On a sidenote.. don't use capital letters in your mapname.. name it "mp_longhorn_beta1" instead.

And I compressed my map into a .rar, instead of a .zip, silly me [crazy]


I also tried to insert a minefield, so I did what the tutorial told me to do, draw brush with origin texture, key: tergetname value: minefield. But then my brush just dissapeared, after compiling my map I noticed there were serveral big minefields on the left side of my map, made a lot of nice, but mostly the mines didn't go off. I can't seem to find any brushes in my map that could be causing this. So my question to u: Would it be wise to delete it manually in my . map file (with notepad), I know it probably sounds ridiculous, but I can't think of anything else...

You were right about the leaking, there was a leak in my map (skybox). I fixed it, and a dozen other errors (will spare you the entire story)

One of those errors was a lightmap allocation error, fixed it by cutting 4 brushes into smaller pieces. (Also did some terrain cutting by selecting vertices and pressing ctrl-shift-x)

I recompiled, but when it was "merging into concave windings" my q3map.exe crashed, I got a window saying an error occured in q3map.exe and the program ahd to be shut down, after clicking don't send, the compile process immediately paused, without writing my .bsp... Is there anything I can do besides getting my big brushes and terrains back?
