hi, quick question, if i edit prefabs such as removing the grenade hints, nodes, walls etc and then bring the prefab into my map (undera different prefab name to the original obviously) when its all compiled will say someone running my map on their computer see the prefab as i have edited it?

They should. The prefab is still a map file that is inserted into yourmapname file. That means the sturctures and models are still treated the same when the map is compiled into a bsp file.
The only time you need to worry about something like this is if you make or modify a texture, you'll have to include it. Same for models and special sound files. If you make a map using things like that, but don't include them with the iwd file, there will be errors and things won't show up on another person's computer.
Reworking a prefab is okay since the prefab is nothing more than a collection of structures, textures and models that are already with the game.
