Ok , here is how i make textures :

1st u need M32Build tool to convert .tga to .m32
2nd u need a program that can open/edit .tga , I use "photoshop"

I will show u how to make a transparant texture :

Chapter 1 - Texture Size -

1 look for a picture on the web or create ur own , for this example i will use a Puma logo and i want the background to be transparant
2 open the photo in photoshop
3 (verry important!) change the photo's size in this range :

512X512
256X256
128X128
64X64
32X32
16X16
8X8

Here's the screen :

As u see the size is changed to 256X256

Chapter 2a - Creating Transparant .tga - Copy Paste -

Like I sayd earlier i want the puma shown on a transparant background:

1 select the "Magic Wand Tool" as shown on this screen :

2 select the Puma with the "Magic Wand Tool"
3 copy the selected Puma by pressing "ctrl+c"
4 go to "file" in "options" and select "new"
5 change the size for the new file to 256X256
6 check "transparant"

7 click "OK"

Press "ctrl+v" and the Puma will show up on the new file

Chapter 2b - Creating Transparant .tga - The Alpha Channel -

To create the alpha channel click on "new channel" in the Channel Window :

Click on "RGB" and make shure the Puma is selected :

Now we need the selected Puma to shine tru the alpha channel :

1 click on the "alpha channel"
2 press "ctrl+i" and the Puma turns white :

save the file as ".tga 32bit" (remember where u saved it) :

[tongue]

Chapter 3 - .tga TO .m32 -

Unzip the M32Build.zip into ur SoF folder and open the "M32Build.exe" now located in ur SoF/base folder

1 click on "path" icon
2 browse to the folder where the created .tga is located and click "OK"
3 click on "output dir" icon

4 browse to ur "sof/base/textures/examplefolder" and click "OK"
5 hilight the file and click "Convert"

Thats it [thumbs_up] :
