Question: When i try to run my map why does it give me this error
Quote:
Error during initialization:
script runtime error
(see console for details)
(file 'maps/mp/gametypes/_callbacksetup.gsc', line 10)

Answer: The game cannot find your "mp_mapname.gsc" because
a. It does not exist
b. it is incorrectly named
c. it is in the wrong directory
d. it has the wrong extension

Solution: First make sure it will be created with the proper extension by clicking on "My Computer" and then on the toolbar at the top of the window select
Tools->Folder Options
Tab "View"
and then uncheck "hide extensions for known filetypes".

Second follow the tutorial for creating a simple .gsc located Here

I got the problem, i did just as the video tut ffom foyleman. I also tried the link u gave but still it wont work... Anyone has any other ideas?

Please post up what your .gsc file looks like so we can see any possible errors.

Thanks

Ok, Ill give as much info as I can.
What i filled in my .gsc file :

Quote:
main()
{
maps\mp\_load::main();
}

Map where i put it in:

I get a red cross after the error, but the strange thing is it doesn't happen that often, mostly CoD2 shuts down and there wont be a red cross at all:

Are you sure that you have all the latest version of .net, video drivers etc? Also make sure that you have no mods or custom maps in your /main folder.

I have never seen that red x before so I cant say what is causing that.

This isn't help... When you map, your CoD2 folder must be clean, no custom maps, no mods, no other files. Only the stock files that came when you installed the game.

.net (x86) here..

The above link should get you the right one. Making sure that your computer (i assume here that you use XP) has SP2 installed really helps too imho.
