The community site bf2142.com report that they have have word from DICE that beta testing for BF2142 could be closer than we think.

We could be closer thn we think at an open beta and demo being released for BF2142. The community site reports the following:

 

BF2142.com- We noticed that you have confirmed the release of a demo at a later stage, could you give us more information about it, as in how far before or after the game release the demo would be out?

DICE- The demo for BF2 went out about 10 days before launch if I remember correctly, I am sure something similar will be the deal for 2142. We are also going to throw out an open beta in the beginning of August. The beta is predominately to learn about large scale issues, i.e. when we have 10 000’s of people playing at the same time, eliminating some of the problems we have encountered after launch previously in the franchise. Keep your eyes open to join.

 

Sounds good. Thoigh with BF2 still haywire for many players, I am a little sketchy about whether I need to rush and buy this. I mean I will get it, but not as soon as I got BF2.

I am definitely all over this game. As long as I can play it on the lan, I am interested.

yea im just worried about people abusing the invisibility. lol...also, there better be a sniper rifle, thats all i ever use lol. but i do wish they would just simply make it complicated...makes no sense im sure but let me clarify. people with radaon graphics cards and all the other ones out there seemed to have problems at the start. well. y dont they just make a different patch for each graphics card. my friend still has some problems. so i really do hope they tried harder on this game. after all, they have had so many battlefield games, they should have plenty of practice.

i'm not really intrested in this game looks more like a BF 2 mod or expansion pack then an actual new game

I know what you are saying as that holds for all the games in this series. However, what is a game other than a mod of another. The same could be said about all of the COD series. I think it has to do with you level of interest in the game.
I am excited to see all these updates to the series... new maps, vehicles, models, and even a new gametype.
