OK, here is something i have not yet figured out. i have heard that 1 unit is one inch, so 12 units is a foot. is that right? if so, what size unit. what grid size do you set to get a unit..i am guessing grid 1.....i need to make a map for testing a long range rifle, so i need to get an exact amount so i can test yardage. thanks

1 unit is one of those tiniest blocks you see after you set the grid size to 1x1.

100 yards = 300 feet = 3600 inches = roughly 3600 units. It's generally a ballpark rather than an exact one-for-one.

Grid size affects snap (and the visual grid displayed). Not sure what you mean buy setting grid size to get a unit. A unit is one, your grid can be anything from 1 to 512 (in powers of 2).

What i mean is.. you can change your grid size right? well if i change my grid size to 8, that's not 8 units right, it's still one unit, just made to look bigger. it's one unit magnified by 8. that's what i wanted to clarify

Hi c.s m8 lets see if I can shed a bit light

As far as i can gather 1 unit (square) in grid 1 is more or less an inch

Therefore 1 unit (square) in grid 2 = 2"

Therefore 1 unit (square) in grid 8 = 8"

and so on.... is this making sense m8?

Aye... the grid is just there to give you a guide...a 'yardstick' , if you will.
If you set the grid to 8, it makes a brush 8 units by 8 units..
Likewise, if you set the grid to 64, you will create a brush 64 x 64 units.

I agree that 1 units it approximately 1 inch
Take for example, the playermodels...I believe the player is 71 units tall.
Now, if 1 unit = 1 inch, then this player is about 5'11" tall
Thats average for an adult human male, i think

*Keep that in mind if you are trying to make things a realistic proportionate scale.
