ello all, been reading the forums and have tried all posts relating to rain and snow storms but still nowt

my maps a tdm - ive dropped in a moscow background for the four sides of me map from cod2 ( coz im using cod2 ) made a floor which looks and sounds like snow when you run on it etc, and altered my worldspawn settings to the same as mp_leningrad moscow russia.

it all looks cool and theres definatley snow but i need a storm
and using the help given so far (thankx guys) i still get script errors once i run mp cod2

there are #include files listed that im told to drop into the mymap.gsc file and ive copied the given help into a mymap_fx.gsc and still zilch

can anyone PLEASE write it step by step in simple fashion

i aint a programmer / scripter - but am learnin tons, its just that the help given sometimes ASSUMES that you got all files where they should be and for people ( dunces ) like me - that aint no help

go on whoever you are......show us how to do it easily......

I have a rain tutorial which can be modified easily for snow.. Have a look here. If you scroll down to the 'updates' you will see how to modify it for rain! Hope this helps!

cheers Rasta, went there and saw the first tutorial listed which is the one with the seperate gsc file and thats the one that didnt work, copied the whole script into mymap.gsc - leaving the seperate one out .... and ... just as you said...

.....thar be rain !!

hmmm....kool.....so then i went and tried the snow ones, one by one, but still no snow ( i then saw the NON-TESTED statement ) and so i thought okay .... ill test em

and so ... the only one that has snow and worked was
snow_wind_cityhall.efx

it aint a snow storm but its a nice windy blowy effect which i am more than happy with..

Cheers, you been a great help.....now im off to find some fast running water for a vertical dropping waterfall - have only "a slightly rippled with a flat underside" water at the mo...lol

no Rasta don't.

I modified your script as well and was able to use external .gsc files as well as all the snow effects. The problem isn't in your tutorial, at least not in the ways described above.

mate, entirely up to you, but like i said above, i aint no programmer - im new to this

all im sayin is that the first set dont work for me but the second do....and its the same for others as ive been surfin the forums on the net - not just mods online

i aint the only one with the same problem....therefore if the 2nd option of copying the script into the gsc file works for me and others have the same problem and are askin the same question..... seems logical that itll help them too ... personally i wouldnt change it or others will miss out

I also used your rain script in my map Snipertown Rasta and it worked beautifully. Thx for that. But , when I converted it to snow, none of the snow fx I tried would show in DX7 only DX9. I think that may be what Shimm means. I didn't try the blowing snow one, though. Would have been nice to know for Kustov Station.

Oh i see! I never actually tested those snow efx. I'm geussing they are not the effects i thought they where. If you do find an effect you get to work then let me know!

i think that skulltapper has hit it on the head

when i started converting my cod1 map into radiant 2, i had several errors relating the the well known "glow will be disabled" error message that everyones talkin about...the only fix for me after updating video drivers etc was to swap out the nvidia geforce card and replace it with a yeucchy radeon one - ironic really - the geforce plays the game but wont allow me to map in radiant - the radeon stutters when i play the game but allows me to map in radiant - its a cruel world lol

anyway ..... sounds like DX7 and DX9 are the cause .. makes sence

i spose the real answe ris to go and buy a real good video card with all nutts and whistles ..... but thats just plain stoopid and i aint a rich man

Whenever i try to run this script in my game, it pulls up an error in the syntax of the coding around this area:
Code:

[b]for(ii=0;ii

for(i = 0; i < players.size; i++) {[/b]

player = players[i];


Can any of you see a problem with that section of code?
