Hey guys I am thinking of buying this card:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130197

Would this card support the COD2 tools? It says it supports DX9, but I was checking the reviews and one person said it doesn't recognise DX9. Also if anyone has this card how well does it handle newer games such as COD2 or Fear? I would like to play on atleast medium settings. My other system specs are an AMD 32000+ athlon processor, 512mb DDR SDRAM, 160GB 7200 RPM Hard drive, and a 300 watt PSU.

I was also thinking of this card but it is kinda expensive for me and says it requires a PSU with atleast 350 watt. Would it really effect anything running with a 300 watt PSU? I would much rather pay the amount for the Geforce 5500, but if it won't run new games well or the COD2 tools I might buy this.

Also what is 4x 8x mean? Thanks for any help.[wave]

Youd be lucky to get an FPS of 1 on CoD2 with that lol... I used to have one... I'd go for the 6600gt if I were you... I currently have a 6600 (not gt version) and I get around 20 - 30 FPS on average on CoD2 although if I had a better CPU (mine sucks) i'd probably get higher... The 4x & 8x is referring to AGP 8x (its a type of connection)... Check whether you have an AGP or PCE Express motherboard before buying or you could be wasting your money on an incompatable card...

Glad I didn't go and waste $75 this morning buying that Geforce 5500 card [lol]. Anyway I only have an AGP slot, I wish I had a PCI express but sadly I do not. How do I tell if it is a 4x 8x? The reason I don't want to spend a lot is because Windows Vista and DX10 is coming out soon. Seems like it would be a waste upgrading now. Anway about the geforce 6600GT would it be okay running with a 300watt PSU when it calls for a 350watt PSU? Also that should run COD2 and Fear on high or medium setting no problem right and support COD2 tools? Thanks for the help![wave]

Hey I am thinking of buying this card since the 6600GT isn't on newegg anymore:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130268

However I am not sure it will fit into my PC, here are some pictures of the back of my PC but I don't see some of the ports or whatever you call them on my PC. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it. My other system spec are

AMD 32000+ athlon processor, 512mb DDR SDRAM, 160GB 7200 RPM Hard drive, and a 300 watt PSU.

Please help!!

First off, I removed your pictures because your windows key was in both pictures and someone could steal your windows. I didn't want that to happen to you.

For those of you wondering about what computer this is:
http://compreviews.about.com/od/budgetdesk/gr/eMachinesT3256.htm

yes, you can fit one 8x agp video card into your computer. IT would be a major upgrade from your integrated GeForce 4MX.

According to the numbers, you should be able to use the geforce 6800xt agp card in this computer. I would also recommend adding some RAM. The stock computer comes with only 512 PC2700 DDR memory and you should put at least 1Gb in there.

Oh shoot, thanks Foleyman. Didn't realize that stuff was on those photos, shows how much I know about computers[lol]. So it will fit with all the ports it has on the card like s video out or whatever it is, all I should do is buy some more ram? Is there a specific type of Ram I should buy and will the card work without it for now until I get enough money to afford anything else like Ram. Also this will run COD2 tools no problem right, that is why I am mainly buying this video card? Thanks for removing those pictures again foleyman, my parents would have killed me if someone stole something like that [biggrin].

You don't have to get the ram right now. I don't think that will make it so you can't make maps. What you need the new video card for is directx 9 support and this video card does have that.

Now, it is possible that you won't be able to make large maps because of a lack of RAM. However, that is speculation.

I would say that this card will work for you.

Ok, thanks foleyman! I guess I will buy this card. One last question is this card any better than a geforce 6600GT since it is a 6800? Also I will try to get some more RAM asap. Thanks again foleyman![wave]
