i have 2 questions about water.

1. when i add water to my map can people walk into it if so how do i stop this.

2. when my water meets the beach i want it to fade out into the sand like a wave going on to the beach how would i go about doing this?

Yes they can walk into it. What you can do is make a wall out of brush, then texture it with the "no draw" texture. This will allow people to shoot and throw nades past it but people shouldn't be able to walk past it.

Not sure about your second question...If I understand you right it may already do what it is you're looking for. Depends on what water texture you use. I'm not for sure on that one. Try a compile and see how it looks.

I would imagine the green has something to do with the worldspawn settings.

Does your water move at all?

Try different water textures. Look for one that says ocean in the name. Might find something.

Also check the cod 1 tutorials. In particular the one about bobbing boats. If I remember correctly there might have been settings to control the frequency and possible even the hieght of the waves. I can't remember exactly.

Well where the water meets the sand it wouldnt be a stight edge or flat would it, so when you do some terrain height editing aloing the edge it will look better.

The water textures in CoD2 are rather c**p i think, alright for rivers but thats about it. You could always make a water texture if toy wanted to.
