put your flat terrain down. press Y. select paint height, set a radius and amplitude, move your mouse over the terrain and do alt+right click to lower or alt+left click to raise.

in the editor you pressed 'Y' and nothing came up? If that doesn't work, go to Patch > Advanced Edit Dialogue (which is the same tool)

first you need to create your flat terrain. so...go to patch> simple terrain mesh or simple patch mesh. Make something. Screw around with the dialogue tool i showed you, and learn!

yup, you can just create a brush the size you want, keep it selected and then turn it into a terrain mesh, hit "Y" and do what is posted above by ={W}=DEVIL You can read the cod mapping tutorials here at modsonline that go over how to create terrain
